In short: every English company must have a registered office in England or Wales. The address is public, and letters from Companies House and HMRC go there. A non-resident usually needs a provider's address.
Why you need it
- Legal requirement. You can't register a UK company without a UK address.
- Official mail. Letters from Companies House, HMRC and the courts arrive here.
- Privacy. Your home address stays off the public register.
- Director's service address. Can be used instead of your personal address.
The address must be a real one: a PO Box is not allowed. The company also provides a registered email address for Companies House.
How we work
- Choose an option — registered office only, or an address with mail forwarding.
- Set up the agreement with the address provider and verify your identity.
- Add the address when forming the company, or change it for an existing one.
- Forward your mail — scans or originals, depending on the option.
What we need from you
- The director's passport and proof of residential address.
- Company name and number, if it is already registered.
- How you'd like to receive mail.
